UNDERSTANDING THE SECRETES BEHIND CLOTHING

Clothing are items made from fabric and other materials that are worn on the body. They are also called clothes apparel or garments.   Typically, clothing is made of fabrics but over time it has included garments made from animal skin and other thin sheets of materials and product found in the environments put together.

Originally clothes were made to cover nakedness without thought of how it fits, blending colors or matching accessories. After creation as we learnt from the holy book (BIBLE), Adam and eve ate the forbidden fruit and got the understanding that they were naked they used leaves to cover nakedness; that was a form of clothing, because its only purpose then was to cover nakedness. The wearing of clothing is mostly restricted to human beings and is a feature of all human societies.

Today clothing serves many purposes, it can serve as protection from elements, rough surfaces, sharp stones, rash causing plants, insect bites, by providing a barrier between the skin and the environment. Clothing can insulate against cold or hot conditions and it can provide a hygienic barrier, keeping infectious and toxic materials away from the body. Clothing can also provide protection from ultraviolet radiation, protection against injury in specific tasks and occupations, sports and warfare. Fashioned with pockets, belts or loops clothing may provide a means to carry things while freeing the hands.

Clothing has significant social factors as well. Wearing clothes is a variable social norm. It may connote modesty, being deprived of clothing in the presence of others may be embarrassing.

The wearing of clothing is mostly restricted to human beings and is a feature of all human societies.

In many parts of the world, not wearing clothes in public so that genitals, breast or buttocks are visible could be considered indecent exposure. Clothing may be used to communicate social status, wealth, group identity, culture, and individualism.

Now in these days; clothes are not just worn to cover nakedness but to beautify, attract, and sometimes passes a kind of message, like in Africa mostly Nigeria when a family loose a person the attire or clothing of the bereaved passes a message that they are mourning. We have different kinds, types and styles of clothes which we wear depending on the occasion, season, weather and time.
